Ayrshire and Glasgow based optician, Opticare have been shortlisted for a prestigious national award. Dispensing Optician Anne Allan who is based at Largs, has been announced as one of three finalists in the category of Dispensing Optician of the Year in the AOP Awards 2018, which is run by the Association of Optometrists (AOP).
Anne Allan said she was delighted to have made it to the shortlist in this category, commenting: “On a personal level i am immensely proud to be shortlisted for this award. We have a great team here at Opticare and everything we do is 100% patient focused. Being shortlisted for this award is the culmination of lots of hard work and building great relationships with our patients”.
The AOP Awards recognises the highest levels of achievement in UK optics, and saw a 75% increase in entrants this year. To accommodate its growing popularity, the Awards will again take place at leading trade event, 100% Optical.
The Dispensing Optician of the Year category celebrates a practitioner who uses their encyclopaedic knowledge to find creative solutions to patient needs while supporting colleagues and promoting eye health to the public.
AOP Chief Executive, Henrietta Alderman, said: “The AOP Awards are about recognising practitioners who contribute so much to the public and profession.” Adding, “With this year seeing more unique entries than ever before, our finalists have achieved so much by getting this far.”
