Comprehensive Eye Exams
The health of your eyes, quality of your vision and your general wellbeing is our main concern. At Opticare Opticians our highly qualified team of experienced optometrists, dispensing opticians and dispensing assistants will help you with all your needs and concerns.
We routinely check for eye conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, and dry eyes as well as looking for indicators for high blood pressure, diabetes and many other conditions
We have invested heavily in clinical equipment in recent years in Glasgow and Ayrshire practices resulting in our consulting rooms having the latest computerised test chart systems, digital retinal cameras and visual field analysers which will help us to provide you with the best, most comprehensive test possible.
NHS eye tests are free for everyone in Scotland
Everybody should have a regular eye examination at least every two years but usually more often if the following conditions apply
- Your optometrist has advised more frequent eye checks
- You are under 16 and wear glasses
- You are over 40 with a family history of glaucoma
- You have glaucoma
- You are diabetic
- You are over 60
Regular sight tests can lead to the early detection and treatment of many eye conditions before they become more sight threatening.
At the end of the sight test our optometrists will fully discuss their findings and the best course of action whether that be monitoring an eye condition, referring to an ophthalmologist, or new glasses.
If you are housebound or unable to visit one of our practices due to a medical condition we are able to offer our high standards of clinical care in the comfort of your own home. This service includes a full eye examination by our optometrist, along with fitting and delivery of new frames and lenses if required.
Please feel free to make an appointment, email or phone us at any of our practices to discuss your requirements.
